Gender Pay Gap Reporting - What's Required and When?

Call

Large businesses in the UK are now just weeks away from starting to analyse your gender pay gap before publicly reporting on findings in 2018.

If you have a headcount of more than 250 employees, get ready to analyse your gender pay gap from April 2017. The UK gender pay gap is currently at its lowest level ever - just over 18 per cent, and the Government has committed to reducing this even further, and eventually bringing it down to 0% altogether.

The Key Dates

October 1st 2016

The Equality Act 2010 came into force from October 1st 2016 and established that all large businesses must begin to calculate and report back on gender pay within their organisation.

April 5th 2016

From April last year, your business should be collecting data for the first reporting period in April 2017.

April 6th 2017

This is when the Equality Act 2010 regulations come into force. As of April 2017, your business should begin to carry out calculations to determine your gender pay gap results.

April 4th 2018

From April 4th 2018 you should publish the results of your analysis on your business’s website. They need to be in a publicly accessible area of your website and not hidden away. Additionally, a signed document should accompany the results and must remain on your website for at least three years.

After this is completed, the results of your gender pay gap reporting should be uploaded onto the Government’s website.
