1 August 2011

Appointment follows successful separation of IRIS into two distinct businesses; IRIS Software Group & IRIS Accountancy Solutions

Neal RobertsThe Board of IRIS Software Group Limited today announced the appointment of Neal Roberts, as CEO of IRIS Software Group.  Neal Roberts, the company’s CFO for the past six years, has been Acting CEO of the company since March this year.

Neal Roberts’ appointment as CEO follows the successful conclusion of the separation of IRIS into two operating businesses, plans for which were announced on March 2nd.  The Board and Executive Management Team believed better customer focus could be achieved by formally separating IRIS into two, with IRIS Accountancy Solutions and IRIS Software Group being run independently.  This exercise is now largely concluded.

IRIS Software Group (ISG) represents all non-Accountancy divisions of IRIS and serves the following sectors; Legal, Not-for-Profit, Accounting & Finance, Payroll & HR, Field Service & Hire, Ticketing, Healthcare & GPs, Software modernisation and Software asset management and compliance.

At the time that the restructuring of the business was announced, Neal remained as Group CFO having held that position for 6 years, and was appointed as acting CEO of ISG.  With the restructuring now complete, Neal is formally appointed as CEO of IRIS Software Group.

Nick Discombe, Chairman IRIS Software Group commented, “The Board and I are delighted that Neal has accepted the role of CEO for IRIS Software Group.  Neal has a wealth of experience having successfully run much bigger businesses as CEO in the technology sector, as well as being CFO for a number of other companies, prior to joining IRIS.  With Neal’s passion and commitment, we will continue to build on IRIS’ success, as well as changing and developing it to fully realise the Group’s potential.“
