IRIS Practice Management secures a place in the finals of the Accountancy Age Awards 2008

12 Sept 2008

The IRIS Practice Management system has been named as a finalist in the ‘Practice Management Software of the Year’ category of this year’s Accountancy Age Awards.

The system, which provides accountancy practices with a complete overview of all practice activities on a ‘client by client’ basis through its central client dashboard, is the current holder of the title, awarded in November 2007.
At the time, judges made special reference to ‘its excellent functionality and wide range of applications.’ They also commented on ‘high customer retention (97%) and growth in its user base’ which it attributed to the operation of a direct sales team in the interests of building strong customer relationships.

IRIS Practice Management is the recognised market leader and it has continued to grow its market share in 2007/8 with a further 5% growth resulting in a total of 2133 sites using the system with more than 15,000 individual users.

Founded 30 years ago, IRIS has an unparalleled wealth of knowledge and experience of the practice software market and a first class reputation for delivering the highest standards of software and service. The IRIS differentiator lies in its integrated approach, driving practice efficiency through seamless integration between tax, accounts production, auditing, company secretarial and time and fees applications via a single central database. This is evidenced by 40% of the Top 50 accountancy practices choosing IRIS software, consistent success in the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) IT Faculty surveys and an outstanding customer retention rate.

Great importance is placed on re-investing profits back into R&D to ensure that IRIS Practice Management continues to offer its users technical innovation and advanced functionality. Between 8 and 10% of annual revenue is invested in R&D and a very high ratio of staff (5:1) are employed in development and support compared with sales and marketing, placing the emphasis very much on the customer experience after the sale is completed.

During the last year, the system has developed significantly with new functionality including integration with two leading document management systems, Invu and Easy, a new Anti-Money Laundering search facility and the development of a new Staff Planning tool.

The winner will be announced at the Accountancy Age Awards Dinner on the 12th November 2008 at Battersea Park Arena.
