IRIS, the largest privately owned software business in the UK,
has announced today that it has taken a majority stake in a joint
venture with MIS, the leading player in the provision of Knowledge
Process Outsourcing (KPO) services to UK accountancy
practices.
The launch of IRIS Resourcing
provides practices with a high quality, secure, offshore
transaction processing service, which utilises web and SQL database
technology to enable the efficient and accurate production of
management, statutory accounts and bookkeeping for the busy
practice.
Research conducted amongst the IRIS customer
base of over 15,000 UK accountancy practices identified that not
only is there a shortage of trained bookkeepers in the UK, making
it increasingly difficult for practices to fill vacancies and
manage peak capacity requirements, but also that firms are now
seeing the cost benefits of offshore processing.
IRIS (http://www.iris.co.uk/) identified MIS
as its partner of choice because of the company’s innovative use of
technology and its existing market leading reputation in this
highly specialised KPO market. 60% of MIS’ existing customers are
also IRIS software users.
Martin Leuw, IRIS Group CEO, described the
introduction as an exciting development for the future growth of UK
