The IRIS accounting software offerings (Exchequer, Chorus and
Accounts Office) have received excellent ratings from charity users
in a newly published independent accounting software survey*. The
findings are significant as they form the first in-depth study of
accounting software use in the not-for-profit sector.
For the survey, undertaken by leading not-for-profit publication
Charity Finance, respondents were asked to rate their accounting
software on the following areas: functionality, compatibility with
charity accounting requirements, cost, ability to integrate with
other systems, reporting, web enablement and ease of use.
Scoring was on the basis of ‘very good’ being equal to 3 points,
‘good’ being equal to 2 points and 0 points being awarded to a
system considered ‘poor’.
The IRIS (www.iris.co.uk)
accounting packages scored the highest overall satisfaction rating
in the mid-range category with a score of 2.33, beating Access,
Coda, Kypera, Microsoft, NetSuite, Sage, Pegasus and SAP to the top
spot. Across all categories (small, medium and large accounting
packages), IRIS received the second highest overall satisfaction
rating.
As a result of the merger between IRIS and CS Group in June
2007, which brought together a number of specialist solutions
designed for voluntary organisations, the newly formed IRIS Group
now provides the widest range of products specifically designed for
the not-for-profit sector. The Group currently has approximately
3,750 not-for-profit customers and 52 of the top 100 UK charities
use IRIS solutions.
Ian Ashby, Managing Director of IRIS’ Not for Profit Solutions
division, commented on the findings: “We are delighted that IRIS’
commitment to the not-for-profit sector is being recognised. We are
now in the unique position of having a full range of systems that
have been developed specifically for this sector and following
extensive customer consultation, we are working towards providing
increased integration between our front office solutions for
Fundraising, Donor Management and CRM with our back office
accounting applications.
“Not-for-profit organisations are increasingly looking for
specialist providers in their sector that are able to offer them
both choice and security. IRIS does both: it is the largest
privately owned software business in the UK with an exceptional
reputation for successfully delivering a range of market-leading
software solutions to 65,000 organisations – there is no more
secure a choice.”
Backed by 30 years of experience, the IRIS commitment to the
whole customer experience is its trademark and is evidenced by a
customer retention rate of 95% across the group, which is
recognised as one of the highest in the software industry.
