Job Summary

An experienced Business Analyst is required to join a newly establish Business Intelligence Centre of Excellence (BI CoE) team as part of a major transformation programme of work to deliver group wide systems and trusted data, enabling improved customer experience, simplified processes and insight driven decision-making. You will be responsible for the facilitation, capture, analysis and challenge of business requirements whilst developing and maintain effective relationships at all levels across the business. You will work as part of a team of BI team developing new insight and reports but also working with end users to extend the overall BI capability across the business.

Main Responsibilities

Business requirements gathering
Translate and simplify requirements
Design Visualizations for dashboards
Data/Reporting analysis of CRM/ERP systems
Liaising with key stakeholders

 Key Relationships

Executive and group / divisional management.  Business systems owners and users.
Group IT teams.  Group Finance.  Sales.  Marketing.
Third party vendors and service providers.
 

Qualifications

Educated to degree level
Good English, Maths and IT
Business Intelligence, data modelling and SQL accreditation or demonstrable equivalent experience

 

Experience

Compulsory:
• At least 3 years in a similar role
• Financial reporting & analysis
• Expert Knowledge of Excel, preferably with knowledge of PowerPivot and DAX
• Experience of working to an Agile methodology
• SQL

Desired:
• Experience of data analytics tools such as Power BI, Tabular
• Experience working in the software or similar sector

 

Competencies

Key Skills & Qualities Required:
• Experience operating as a Business Analyst
• Experience working on finance/accounting/HR/Payroll platforms
• Used structured BA techniques to define both current and desired future states (e.g. business or system context models, business process models, data flow diagrams, data models and use cases).
• Ability to work to parallel deadlines on a number of items simultaneously
• Comfortable presenting to senior leadership teams
• Systematic, methodical & proactive approach
• Highly organised with an outstanding work ethic
• Able to work with the minimum of supervision as part of a team
• Comfortable with complex concepts and ability to apply theory and learning to practical situations
• Ability to communicate confidently and clearly with staff and all levels of the business
• Ability to work with a range of stakeholders
• Qualified (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) or nearly qualified Accountant
• Expertise in management accounting, financial performance reporting and financial control.
