Job Summary

As a successful candidate you will be working in the IRIS Cloud division which delivers software for UK accountancy practices and small to medium enterprises. 

You will use your extensive experience project and programme management to set up a program office to manage the portfolio of projects across the Cloud Division.

Your understanding of stakeholder management and program governance will enable you to mentor staff involved in project delivery roles in the latest best practices.

Applying your clear, articulate and persuasive communication skills, you will keep senior level stakeholders informed and gain their support for the Cloud delivery options and its recommended decisions.

You will always be looking for and investigating new way to establish strong relationships and better communication with stakeholders. Typically, you hate ambiguity and confusion and are keen to maintain informed stakeholder communication at all times. You will have a deep understanding of operational costs and the importance of the customer experience and be able to factor this in when looking to influence the delivery program.

Your can do attitude will motivate and empower the technical delivery community to deliver solutions at pace. You will be an excellent team player and value working as a team to find the right solutions. Working in a highly agile environment, you will be comfortable to deal with the impact of external events and changes in priority. Your external stakeholders will trust your judgment and recommendations.

 

Main responsibilities 

Set up and operate daily delivery program governance (PMO)

Establish trusted working relationships with senior stakeholders

Provide stakeholders with weekly program status, issue and risk updates.

Define and communicate project lifecycle management and best practice

Coordinate execution of concept and discovery phases of project life cycle

Monitor and report on projects during implementation and launch phases

Ensure program issues are actively identified and managed

Identify and manage program risks with effective mitigation actions

Account for project costs, time and budget

 

Key Relationships

Executive and other senior level stakeholders

External stakeholder and 3rd party partners

Product managers and business analysts

Development managers, technical architects and developers

Operations and support teams

 

Qualifications

Degree qualified with a computer science, math or engineering background

MSP or similar program management qualification would be an advantage 

 

Experience

Proven experience in managing technology projects and programs

Working knowledge of project managing agile delivery project

High impact and persuasive communication and presentation skills

Ability to work as part of a team without losing sight of the objectives

An appreciation of coaching and mentoring to build new functions

Effective and visible leadership skills

Practical knowledge of project budgeting and accounting
