Catch up on what happened at the IRIS and Earnie Online Payroll Conference
The first ever IRIS and Earnie Online Payroll Conference took place last week and more than 250 IRIS customers joined IRIS SME CEO Mark Paraskeva as well as product and legislation specialists and guest speaker Helen Hargreaves from the CIPP to hear the latest payroll and auto enrolment information.
This 3 hour event was a great success and lots of questions were put to the experts – look out for some of these questions (and answers!) coming later this week.
One of the topics that created the most interest was Holiday Pay Legislation and what the recent tribunal rulings mean for business. Helen covered some of the complex rules that surround this subject and explained that just that week an appeal by British Gas had been overruled by the Employment Appeal Tribunal which means that taking commission into account for Holiday Pay is one step closer to becoming legislation. Customers attending the conference were reassured however that, even though the rules surrounding Holiday Pay are complex, it can be easily managed with the new IRIS Holiday Pay Module.
Also covered during the conference were payroll legislation changes coming into force in April (visit our dedicated Year End Insight page for more information) and the recent enhancements to the IRIS AE Suite™ (including the 10 step configuration tool and the new NEST web services integration) and how it can reduce the time for managing auto enrolment to zero on an ongoing basis.
