Half the world will use the internet in 2015
By the end of 2015 there is expected to be around 3.2 billion people using the internet; almost half of the population of the Earth.
The report by the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) also goes on to explain that around 2 billion of those will be in the developing world.
Furthermore, it is expected that the amount of mobile devices will reach over 7 billion, closing in on overtaking the population of the Earth itself. This gives an insight into the recent "Mobilegeddon" changes to Google's algorithms affecting search results to favour web pages that are mobile friendly.
In addition to this, the report found that 78 out of 100 people in the US and Europe already use mobile broadband, and 69% of the world has 3G coverage.
This means that there is much more emphasis on ensuring that your business is online and mobile ready. With more people than ever using their phones to access the internet, your business really should be accessible via the internet.
If your business is without a website, you are limiting yourself to a limited number of prospective customers that you can attract. 78% of people start their buying process with an internet search and without a website, you are automatically excluding yourself from this massive potential market.
The internet also gives you the opportunity to branch out internationally or at least reach out to further than just your local town.
At IRIS we fully support small businesses through means of our cloud products and our auto enrolment solutions. By streamlining other processes you have more time to focus on more business critical responsibilities such as growing your business through the power of the internet.
The IRIS AE Suite™ assesses employees automatically with each payroll run for their eligibility for auto enrolment. This frees up valuable time for you to concentrate on a website, social media or blogging to enhance your business with an online reputation.
