Looked After Call is an innovative platform designed to co-ordinate interventions, protect student data and streamline processes. We’re proud to deliver tailor-made solutions to meet the needs of stakeholders responsible for the care and wellbeing of looked after children.

With over 20 years experience in the education sector, Head of Looked After Call, Ruth Davies, understands the vital roles of communication and technology in protecting vulnerable young people, making her well-placed to lead the Looked After Call team and support customers.

We caught up with Ruth about her experience working with school leaders and local authorities in supporting looked after children today:

“Throughout my career, I’ve been fortunate enough to work in all areas of education. I have supported schools across the UK to integrate ICT across the curriculum and help plan robust, future-proof infrastructures. As a consultant to Local Authorities, schools and academies, I have guided school leaders to support learners with the appropriate resources.”

“More recently, I have been focussed on the importance of taking a holistic view of students and their learning journey.  Engaging all stakeholders and co-ordinating appropriate interventions to maximise the potential of each individual.”

“Schools are under increasing pressure to reduce unauthorised absenteeism and raise attainment, but without supporting background information, our most challenged students can be misunderstood.”

“Sadly, statistics prove that the most vulnerable learners are at the highest risk of being denied access to the resources they require.Educating schools, parents and carers as to how best to support young people is at the heart of what we do.”

“Increasing awareness of the impact of exclusions and off-rolling is a major contributor to safeguarding vulnerable young people.”

“By providing a student-centric approach, we can provide the tools to allow stakeholders to improve outcomes for all learners. Young people must be given the opportunity to contribute their voice, in whichever medium, without expectation, moderation or judgement.”

“We’re passionate about what we do and are keen to deliver a system that supports your needs. So get in touch and talk to us – I’m just an email away.”
