Holiday Pay is changing

The result of two cases will have repercussions across the UK as new rules and regulations come into place. The UK Working Time Directive states that full-time employees are entitled to 5.6 weeks off each year, including bank holidays. This works out for a 5 day-per-week worker at 28 days, 20 days plus the 8 bank holidays. The European Working Time Directive stipulates that workers are entitled to only four weeks per year. There has always been a discrepancy between the two regulations, but these new rules resulting from the employment tribunals should clear things up.
