They’ll be sharing their thoughts and opinions on the hottest topics in accountancy right now, from HMRC’s ‘Making Tax Digital’ initiative to Brexit; new UK GAAP to the rise of business advisory services and the latest technological innovations.

Speakers

This year’s keynote talks will be delivered by some of the foremost minds in their respective fields:

Dave Coplin – Chief Envisioning Officer at Microsoft UK Dave will be discussing how to capitalise on the evolving role of technology within your industry and effectively develop a market-leading IT strategy.

Theresa Middleton – Director, Business Customer & Strategy at HMRC With HMRC’s ‘Making Tax Digital’ consultation papers now in the public domain, Theresa will be providing insight on the future of digital taxation and busting some of the myths surrounding it.

Steve Collings – Audit & Technical Partner at Leavitt Walmsley Associates Ltd Steve is our resident FRS guru at IRIS World; his expertise covers the major areas of financial reporting, including UK GAAP and IFRS.

Panellists

Due to the success of last year’s industry panel, this year’s has been expanded in its breadth, with our panellists including:

Jack Mansfield FCA – Head of Digital Take Up at Companies House Jack will be imparting his unique knowledge of the digital reporting of financial statements for the public record and the use of iXBRL data.

Glenn Collins FCCA – Head of Technical Advisory at ACCA Glenn specialises in giving advice and support to ACCA members on a wide range of issues, including audit, financial reporting, business and credit advice, taxation, law, ethics, export and access to finance.

Tom Herbert – Business Editor at AccountingWEB.co.uk Tom will be representing AccountingWEB, one of the UK’s most prominent websites for accountants.

Thomas Toomse-Smith – Project Director at FRC Thomas works in the FRC’s Financial Reporting Lab, and is currently leading a project looking at how the use of digital reporting might be optimised in the future.

Anita Monteith – Technical Lead & Senior Policy Adviser at ICAEW Anita is ICAEW’s Tax Technical lead and senior policy adviser, and has a particular interest in tax matters affecting SMEs. She’s closely involved with online filing developments in tax and is leading for ICAEW on the Government’s ‘Making Tax Digital’ proposals.
