HMRC’s planned IT upgrade and maintenance work, which will cause many of their online services, including their PAYE service, to be unavailable is going ahead this weekend. The shutdown was initially planned for last weekend but was postponed as there were concerns the work would not be finished in the time allocated.

HMRC begin chasing employers who have missed RTI deadlines

Throughout September HMRC will be contacting businesses across the UK who are still failing to comply with Real Time Information. Employers who have missed one or more of the deadlines for reporting PAYE information in real time will be contacted by the revenue and urged to act now to achieve compliance.

According to figures from the Public Accounts Committee (PAC), taxpayers spent a total of 76 centuries on hold to various government helplines last year, including HMRC’s. This news comes after HMRC blamed their recent poor customer service on the introduction of Real Time Information.

IRIS payroll software passes one million successful RTI submissions!

Since RTI was introduced on 6 April 2013, over one million PAYE submissions have been successfully made in real time with IRIS payroll software. This is a great milestone for us, showing that one in seven of all PAYE schemes complying with RTI are doing so with our payroll software.
