HMRC CT600 Service - Briefing

UK agents wave goodbye to HMRC’s CT600 free service

When filing CT600 corporation tax returns, agents had
the choice to use the free HMRC service .
That’s all set to change. A recent HMRC announcement confirms the withdrawal of this free
service to be replaced with an online company tax return & accounts filing service called
Company Accounts & Tax Online (CATO). Agents will not be able to use CATO.

What’s the alternative?

The withdrawal of HMRC’s current free corporation tax software means accountants must seek an alternative. This briefing paper looks at the main factors to consider before moving to a commercial solution and reviews some of your options.
