Problem

The user is getting the following error producing any report:

an error occurred  whilst creating the report some page may be missing


or


report error 998

Resolution

We are aware a number of customers are affected by this issue and are currently investigating this with the highest priority.


We currently believe this issue is being caused by a recent Windows update published by Microsoft and are working to identify the offending update.


We will update the KnowledgeBase here, along with your software login message, with further information as the investigation continues.

• Security Update for Microsoft Windows (KB4476976)


• Security Update for Microsoft Windows (KB4480978)


• Update for Microsoft Windows (KB4480976)


Removal of this update via Control Panel | Programs and Features | View installed updates should allow normal use of payroll while we instigate a permanent fix:




You will need to restart your PC after removing the problematic update.
