Problem

The above error is due to upgrading to Adobe Reader DC. If you have upgraded Adobe Acrobat DC to any version earlier than 15.009.20077 you may encounter the following error There was a problem reading this document (14)

Resolution

This is a problem caused by Adobe Reader DC and NOT the IRIS update and will affect ANY PDF created in any version of IRIS using the Report Generation Screen, as shown here KB12136b | There was a problem reading this document (14) This issue is resolved by the new update of Adobe Reader DC 15.009.20077 this should be automatic, however if not please open Adobe Reader go to help and check for updates to install it manually. In addition to this IRIS will also include a fix in the next service pack which will prevent this reoccurring on NEW PDFs created within IRIS. In the unlikely event that you do not have a Check for Updates option it is likely this has been blocked by your own IT policies. To make this update option available you will need to change the following reg key from 0 to 1 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREPoliciesAdobeAcrobat ReaderDCFeatureLockDown] “bUpdater”=dword:00000000 NOTE: Serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly by using Registry Editor or by using another method. These problems might require that you reinstall the operating system. Modify the registry at your own risk or seek expert advice from your own IT Provider.
