Problem
When trying to load the IRIS Main Menu the user can get the following error message: Startup Failure, Login Failure.
Resolution
There are a few causes for this error either IRIS has been moved to a new pc or server or the SQL Services are not started on the PC Following the steps below may help to resolve the issue. Solution 1
  • Click Start, Right click My Computer and select Manage
  • Double click on Services and Applications
  • Double click on Services
  • Right Click the service called SQL Server (IRISPRACTICE) and click Start
  • Retry IRIS again
  • Solution 2
  • Click Start, Click Run
  • Type cmd and click OK
  • Type cd\ and press enter
  • Type cd IRIS and press enter
  • NOTE: This assumes that the IRIS folder is located on C Drive. If it is held on a different drive or under a different folder amend the instructions accordingly
  • Type hostname and press enter
  • Type createpracticelogin hostname\IRISPRACTICE IRIS and press enter
  • Once this has run successfully please retry IRIS
