Problem When I do a search in datamining the personal tax figures are not displayed.

Resolution Personal tax figures are displayed in Data Mining once a final tax computation has been run in personal tax for that client.

To run a final tax computation, follow these steps:
  • Open the IRIS Main Menu and click on IRIS Personal Tax
  • Select Reports | All computations
  • Tick the box 'Final'
  • Click on OK

The rationale is that the Tax summary figures represent the "Final figures" rather than the current state of data entry. If there are figures are already in data mining then these are the values at the time of last finalization - which for Personal Tax is when a final Tax Return or Computation is produced.

If the personal tax figures are not displayed for multiple clients you can search in data mining and calculate the personal tax figures 'on the fly'.

  • Open IRIS Main Menu and click on IRIS Practice Management
  • Go to Launch | Data Mining
  • Data Mining Screen will be displayed
  • Go to File and click on 'calculate on the fly'

Note: Your data mining search can take a long time to run for first time you do a search. Doing this multiple search will not re-calculate tax figures for clients who have previously produced a final tax return or a computation.
