- It has been identified that when trying to install the IRIS Accountancy Software Workstation installation from a network path or location the following error can occur: Error 1606. Could Not Access Network Location SERVERIRIS This is due to the source folder where the IRIS folder was originally located having been moved or changed.
- Resolution
- In order to resolve this, on the workstation please go to:
- Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs
- Browse the list and remove anything relating to IRIS (ie IRIS Workstation environment)
- Click Start – All programs > Accessories > Run
- Type in “regedit” and click OK
- Go to “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\IRIS Software Ltd” (or for 64bit machine “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\WOW364node\Software\IRIS Software Ltd” )
- Right click on “IRIS Software Ltd” and choose Delete
- If there is a relating “IRIS Software Group” registry, please delete this also.
- Close the Registry Editor Once completed please follow the instructions detailed in KB IAS-6723 If the error is returns, please log into the machine with an administrator account, rather than a user with admin rights as this should have escalated privileges and then repeat the above steps.
