It has been identified that when trying to install the IRIS Accountancy Software Workstation installation from a network path or location the following error can occur: Error 1606. Could Not Access Network Location SERVERIRIS This is due to the source folder where the IRIS folder was originally located having been moved or changed.
Resolution
In order to resolve this, on the workstation please go to:
  • Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs
  • Browse the list and remove anything relating to IRIS (ie IRIS Workstation environment)
  • Click Start – All programs > Accessories > Run
  • Type in “regedit” and click OK
  • Go to “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\IRIS Software Ltd” (or for 64bit machine “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\WOW364node\Software\IRIS Software Ltd” )
  • Right click on “IRIS Software Ltd” and choose Delete
  • If there is a relating “IRIS Software Group” registry, please delete this also.
  • Close the Registry Editor Once completed please follow the instructions detailed in KB IAS-6723 If the error is returns, please log into the machine with an administrator account, rather than a user with admin rights as this should have escalated privileges and then repeat the above steps.
