Problem
When generating an AutoMail letter there is an option to select what document type the letter will save as. You can select MS Word or PDF. There is currently an issue if you generate a letter with the "Save as" option set to "MS Word". Once the letter has generated, if you select Print Later, the letter will be saved to the communications tab as a PDF document.
Resolution
There is a new version of the update which is now available on the downloads page
The version which had the issue was 18.3.0.590
The version in which the issue is fixed is 18.3.0.592
You can check you version by going to Help | About from the Iris main menu.
The best workaround is to select Print Now.
You do not have to print the document, you can click cancel the word screen, and the document will still be logged to the client’s communications screen.
