Problem
It has been identified that when trying to access IRIS via a network resource a security warning is displayed.
This is a common issue for users who have upgraded to Internet Explorer 8.
NOTE : IRIS is working as designed and you may receive this warning when trying to open any file that can be executed from a network location on your Internal Network or Intranet.
Resolution
Following the steps below may resolve the issue with the security settings configuration.
To modify the Internet Explorer Security Settings :
Open Internet Explorer.
Click Tools
Click Internet Options
Click the Security tab
Click Local Intranet
Click Sites
IMPORTANT : Never add sites that are outside of the local network to this section as they do have additional rights that may not be appropriate.
Click Advanced
Untick the box requesting https: on all sites
Type the Name of your server that contains the IRIS Installation
Close Internet Explorer
Reboot the computer for the new settings to take effect
