Problem
How to send an amended Electronic Tax Return online? Note that the window to submit amended returns for 2011 and 2012 online has now been closed by HMRC, if amendments are required for these years they must be submitted to HMRC by post
Resolution
Users are required to:
1. Log on to IRIS Personal Tax and select the client.
2. From the Reports menu, select Electronic Tax Return.
3. A warning message will appear stating that a Tax Return for this client has already been submitted for this period, click OK to confirm that an amended return should be generated.
4. Enable the Amended field, click OK.
5. Transmit the Tax Return as normal.
Note that if the required changes are made but the above steps are not followed before the Tax Return is submitted again a rejection error 5015 may occur
