Problem

It has been identified that when trying to access PTP ACCOUNTS PRODUCTION the following error may occur.

IRIS STARTUP FAILURE
Module: Core Emulator failed to start
Cause: Failed to login into database
Unspecified error
HRESULT hr=0X80004005
The file 'C:program filesmicrosoft sql serverMSSQL.10.50_PTPACCOUNTSMSSQLdataPTPACCTS.mdf' is compressed but does not reside in a read-only database or filegroup. The file must be decompressed.

This is caused by having file compression on the SQL data files, normally as a result of running a disk clean up utility.

Resolution

Following the steps below may help to resolve the issue.

1.  Click Start, Click Run, Type SERVICES.MSC and then press Enter
2.  Locate MSSQL$PTPACCOUNTS, Right-Click and then click Stop.
3.  Close all windows
4.  Double Click Computer, Double Click: C: (Local Disk) and Double Click Program Files
5.  Double Click Microsoft SQL Server, Double Click MSSQL.10.50_PTPACCOUNTS, Double Click: MSSQL and then click DATA.
6.  Right-Click: PTPACCTS.mdf, click Properties, Click Advanced and then Untick Compress Contents to Save Disk Space.
7   Click OK, Click OK and then repeat the steps above for the PTPACCTS_LOG.ldf
8.  Click Start, Click Run, type SERVICES.MSC and then press Enter
9.  Locate MSSQL$PTPACCOUNTS, Right-Click MSSQL$PTPACCOUNTS and click Start
10.  29. Close all windows
