Problem
It has been identified that during the installation or update of IRIS Practice Suite the following error may occur Error: -1601 The Windows Installer Service could not be accessed This can occur if you are running windows in safe mode, or if the windows installer is not correctly installed. Contact your support personnel for assistance
Resolution
This error occurs when the Microsoft Windows Installer Service has been corrupted on the system. The Windows Installer Service is considered a core component of some Windows operating systems. If a core operating system component is corrupted, in some cases, the issue can only be addressed if the operating system itself is repaired or reinstalled.
