Hinderton School is a specialist primary school in Cheshire, supporting pupils with additional needs. Complete visibility of maintenance and workload 

Every Compliance has transformed how the school manages maintenance requests. Staff are required to log all jobs in the system before work is carried out, ensuring nothing is missed and workload is clearly tracked. 

Liz tells us, “If people ask for something in the corridor, we tell them to put it on Every before we’ll do it. That way everything is tracked digitally and we can prioritise all the tasks that need to be done. We think of it as our administrator, and if it’s not on the system, it’s not getting done!”  

The system effectively acts as a day-to-day planner for the site team, automatically generating task lists and reminders each day.  

“Our site manager, Steve, joined us in January last year and picked up Every Compliance quickly, thanks to a thorough handover from the previous site manager. Now, he logs in each morning and instantly knows what needs to be done. The system takes care of the administrative side for us, so nothing gets missed. It’s hard to put a time saving on it because we’ve used Every for so long – but it’s work we simply don’t have to do anymore.”

Audit-ready evidence at the click of a button 

One of the biggest benefits for the school is the ability to instantly evidence compliance during inspections. 

“We recently had a health and safety audit and, when we showed them everything in Every, they were thrilled. There was a real sense of relief knowing everything they needed was in one place. It makes the whole audit process much less stressful for us.” 

From maintenance logs to compliance checks, all records are stored centrally, giving the school confidence that they are always inspection ready. 

The system is also particularly valuable for external staff, such as IT support or maintenance contractors. 

Liz says, “Our IT support is only on-site once a week, but he logs in and immediately knows what needs to be done. That saves a huge amount of time, which is especially valuable when time is limited.” 

Forward planning and safeguarding evidence 

Every Compliance helps ensure knowledge is captured in one place, reducing reliance on individuals and giving all members of the team visibility.  

Liz tells us, “Contracts pop up when they’re due for renewal, and if there was any reason I wasn’t here, someone else would be able to access that information and know what needs to be done and when.” 

In a specialist environment, the system also plays an important role in evidencing incidents and supporting decision-making. 

Liz explains, “If there’s damage to buildings or equipment, we log it in Every. We use this information, combined with information such as staff injuries, and over time, this builds a clear picture alongside our behaviour data. The reporting functionality allows us to capture everything as safeguarding evidence. This is incredibly valuable when we’re reviewing pupil needs or making decisions around placements.”
