IRIS Accountancy Solutions is today launching a new service to help accountancy practices capitalise on the Making Tax Digital (MTD) journey. IRIS Practice Advisory provides a range of workshops and consultancy services designed to build on current expertise and help practices transform into a fully digital firm.

IRIS has joined forces with Farnell Clarke to deliver the services, enabling firms to utilise the extensive expertise of both parties to explore and develop practice growth strategies. This includes practical steps to move to an advisory-based practice, capitalising on the MTD journey and devising commercially viable, value-added services. All elements of service provision are explored including technology infrastructure, applications and security; types of service and enhancing client communications.

Sion Lewis, CEO of IRIS Accountancy Solutions explains, “As much as the industry has talked about the move to advisory services, many firms are still focused on the MTD journey. IRIS Practice Advisory will provide practical advice and support to make the new digital economy a commercial reality. The combination of our expertise and Farnell Clarke’s knowledge in developing a leading digital practice, means we can provide hands-on help for practices to devise best practice, transform culture and strategy.”

Will Farnell, founder of Farnell Clarke says, “I look forward to bringing my personal experiences as to what a digital, future-proof firm looks like to help fellow accountants build successful digital firms. We all need to be ready to embrace the changes rapidly taking effect in the market and, alongside the experience of IRIS, I believe we can help other practices move from surviving to thriving in the digital economy.”

Steven Cox, chief evangelist, IRIS Accountancy Solutions and Will Farnell, founder of Farnell Clarke will lead the IRIS Practice Advisory consultancy sessions which are available in three formats:

Workshops: IRIS Practice Advisory is hosting a series of workshops across the country. Places on these will be limited to focus on the current pitfalls and issues attendees are facing, how to get around them and importantly how to change as a result.

In-practice workshops: IRIS Practice Advisory provides tailored workshops for individual accountancy practices, enabling them to analyse their current processes, business model and strategy, and develop new plans to aid digital transformation.

Consultancy services: IRIS Practice Advisory provides specific consultancy services across ten business areas, bringing in additional expertise where required. Business areas include firm strategy; technology; services; process review and design; pricing; customer experience; marketing strategy; business development; people and workplace culture, and data strategy.
