- Problem
I've set up SMP to calculate automatically but the payment hasn't started / the payment value is too low.
- Resolution
-
PAYE-Master calculates SMP payments on a weekly basis, not a daily rate.
That being the case there needs to be at least one full week between your recorded first day of maternity leave and the pay date you are currently working towards.
Any incomplete weeks at the end of the period will be deferred until the next period.
The system will correctly pay the full 39 weeks (unless user stops payment early) so you may see an extra week at the end of the leave when you might have expected the payment to stop.
If you need to pay SMP worked out at a daily rate you will need to cancel the automatic calculation and manually calculate and record the SMP value in “Pay Variations” > “Statutory Payments“
