Problem

User reports that when trying to send an EPS it is rejected with the message Account Name must be between 1 and 28 characters. The account name provided is xx characters long.

This could also generate the following error numbers: 4083 and 4065:

4083 value is too large account holder name 4065 invalid content found at element

Resolution

The account name causing the problem is the companies bank account name. This detail is included on the EPS  if the user ticks the option “Use in EPS” in the company bank details. Un ticking this option allows the EPS to be sent successfully. This option can be found:

Earnie: “Company“” > “Alter Company Details” > “Bank Details

Business/Bureau: “Company” > “Company Details” > “Bank Details

PAYE-Master: “Company” > “Details” > “Bank Details

GP Payroll: “Setup/Options” > “7-Direct Banking
