Problem
IRIS Business Tax- Line 1 of the address contains more than 28 characters
Resolution
1.Client | View | Address – check if if the entries are correct (not over 28 characters) – Line 1 cannot be too long or HMRC will reject it. So spread out the address to the other lines. You can delete the entry in line 1 and manually type back in to ensure its not over 28 characters.
2. If the address is correct (not over 28) and you cannot find the cause then you may have other address entries for this client.
Client view and address – at the very bottom, click on ‘Next address’ and also ‘Previous Address’ and more address fields could be populated. So check and Reduce and re-generate as well. If you still cannot find the cause DELETE the address fields and only keep one of them (so there are no Previous and Next address entries).
If you have Prev and Next addresses entered then the buttons below will not be greyed out. (greyed out means no other addresses are saved)
