Problem

It has been identified that users who have IRIS installed as a network application on Terminal Server or Citrix environments that run Windows 2008 or Windows 2008 R2 may encounter frequent crashes. This also occurs in Windows 2012. The following information will be reported in the Application event log on two entries with the same time stamp: Application Error - Event ID 1000 – “Faulting application iwinxxxx.exe, version xxxxx…” Exception code: 0xc0000006 Application Error - Event ID 1005 – “Windows cannot access the file for one of the following reasons: there is a problem with the network connection, the disk that the file is stored on, or the storage drivers installed on this computer; or the disk is missing. Windows closed the program iwinxxxx.exe because of this error.

Resolution

This has been identified as an error with the Microsoft environment and not the IRIS products. Where possible IRIS suggests installing the IRIS program locally on your citrix or terminal server. IRIS has created a downloadable installer that will configure the local programs for you. Please download the file from here and save it into your IRIS folder. Once completed follow the detailed guide available here NOTE: You Must be on v11.9.0 or greater for this function to be available.
