Problem
How are files attached to an Electronic Tax Return so they are transmitted to the HMRC along with the client's income details?
Resolution
Within the Electronic Return Options screen – where the options for test and final are displayed there is a button labelled Select External PDF. This option allows a PDF document to be retrieved from outside of IRIS and attached to the Electronic Tax Return. The option to attach documents which are saved in the communications log is also available.
To view what attachments have been sent, go to Transmit Internet Return. Right click on the client and select Properties. The attachment name will then be displayed.
