How do I Amend or Extend the accounting period end date attached to a posting entry?
Resolution
Select, Posting | Post File Maintenance | Highlight the business | click Entries | Accounts Production will display a list of existing post files for the business | highlight the post file you wish to amend | click Change. If you wish to change the period end date on a post file, click the magnifying glass, Accounts Production will display a warning message asking you to confirm that you wish to continue, click Yes. A list will be displayed of the existing account period end dates that have been set up for the business. Click Add to add another period end date. This new accounting period can be made an interim (reporting only) end date if required. To do this, tick the interim box at the top of the new period end date screen. If you wish to change the period end date to an existing date highlight the date you want to change the post file to, click OK to save the change you have made. If you wish to extend an accounting period, Select the accounting period that you wish to amend, Select Change | Amend the date | Select Ok. NOTE: The Enter extended / shortened period details for Company Secretarial? box should be ticked if the period was lengthened or shortened, it will bring up the details of the extended / shortened period and will ask you to fill in the expected end date for the period. If a date has been set up wrong, click Change to overwrite the date to what you want it to be, for example 28/02/03 can be changed to 28/02/02 Where relevant the screen will automatically display previous and next account period end date. Complete the Account period: end date field with the new date you wish to set up, click OK to save the new date. If you do not wish to enter a new date click Cancel to return to the previous screen any changes will not be saved.
