How to delete a Posting Entry? Note: A Posting Entry relates to a Financial Year. A Post File contains ALL Posting Entries.
Resolution
Please Note users are advised to take an extract prior to deleting a posting entry by going to CLIENT | EXTRACT Once you’d taken the Extract please follow the steps below: Select Posting | Post File Maintenance | Entries Note: Make sure the client you wish to select is highlighted before clicking [Entries]. A list of existing Post files for the client will be provided. Highlight the post file entry you wish to delete and click [Delete]. Two warning screens will appear to confirm deletion. Click [Yes] to delete ‘ALL postings in entry’ or [No] to return to the Posting Entry screen. Note: To delete an individual Posting Entry (or Post File) a user must either log in to Account Production as a MASTER user or have the correct permissions and be set as a ‘super user’. To check permissions log into System Maintenance and select: Staff | Staff Maintenance | View (on user) | Basic/Allowed (tab) On the ‘Basic’ tab make sure ‘Has super user permissions’ has been set and on the ‘Allowed’ tab under ‘Accounts Production Privileges’ make sure that ‘Can delete posting files/entries’ is ticked.
