Problem
How do I setup a shareholding and then add an event to it?
Resolution
To setup a shareholding:
1. Log into IRIS Personal Tax and select the client.
2. From the Edit menu select Capital Assets.
3. Click the Shareholding option on the left then click Add on the right.
4. Enter the relevant information e.g, company name, no. of shares, date acquired and cost of shares etc then click OK
To add any events:
1. Click the Operative Events button and then click Add.
2. Enter the date of the event and the type of event. e.g acquisition or disposal, the amount of shares bought or sold and then click ok.
To view the history of the shareholding go to the reports menu and click on Shareholding report.
