How to claim Married Couples Allowance (MCA)
Resolution
On the ‘Client Tax Returns’ tab, under ‘Year specific client details’ the marital status should be set to married and the spouses’s date of birth entered. The allowance may only be claimed if at least one of the partners was born before 6th April 1935. Entries are made on the Additional Information supplement page 3 (Ai3).
