- When attempting to retrieve HMRC data a message appears to say 'An error occurred when calling HMRC OAuth'.
- Resolution

This message means the authorisation token stored in the PTP database at the time of registering for the data retrieval service has become disabled for some reason. The token will need to be reset and it will be necessary to reregister for this service. The Reset HMRC Token tool may be accessed from the Spanner icon.
1. Within the PTP Tax Platform
2. Click on the Spanner icon
3. Click on the Support/Web Updates tab
4. Click on the Reset HMRC API Token buttonOn the next attempt to Retrieve HMRC Data you will need to go through the registration process as prompted on screen.
Alternatively the tool may be accessed from the weblink below:
1. Take a backup of the PTP Data
2. Run the Reset HMRC Token tool
3. Browse to the path of the data folder (this path may be checked via Spanner icon > Configuration tab if required)
4. Click to Clear TokenOn the next attempt to Retrieve HMRC Data you will need to go through the registration process as prompted on screen.
