Problem

When attempting to retrieve HMRC data a message appears to say 'An error occurred when calling HMRC OAuth'.

Resolution

This message means the authorisation token stored in the PTP database at the time of registering for the data retrieval service has become disabled for some reason.  The token will need to be reset and it will be necessary to reregister for this service.  The Reset HMRC Token tool may be accessed from the Spanner icon.

1. Within the PTP Tax Platform
2. Click on the Spanner icon
3. Click on the Support/Web Updates tab
4. Click on the Reset HMRC API Token button

On the next attempt to Retrieve HMRC Data you will need to go through the registration process as prompted on screen.

Thank you for your feedback.
