IRIS Personal Tax: How to tick YES on Box 9 on page TR2 need to declare additional information for HMRC to read?
Resolution
Additional Information Box 9 on page TR2 is only automatically ticked ‘YES’ if there are entries for Married couple allowance, Life insurance gains, Chargeable event gains and Seafarers. No other entry in PT can tick this box and you cannot force it to be ticked.
If you do want to add in additional info (but you don’t have the specific income types) then: Relief / Misc/ Additional info ‘SA100’ and also ‘Tax Calc’ is the best place to add in further details to show directly on the tax return for HMRC to read.
Where the two additional info details will show on the Tax Return SA100.
Box 19, TR7 will show the SA100 box entry
Box 17, TC2 will show the Tax Calc box entry
