IRIS Personal Tax- UK Property/Dividends adding a new joint partner and crashing PT
Resolution
If you go to Personal Tax – Select a client – UK Land and Property – UK Property Income – Click on the spyglass next to Joint Income and add a new partner in, then the PT software crashes with no error message. OR in UK Dividends OR Foreign Dividends, Click on the spyglass next to Joint Income and add a new partner in, then the PT software crashes. This may affect other income types where it allows you to claim JOINT INCOME and add/edit a partner to the income.
This is confirmed as a DEFECT with the IRIS update to 24.3.2.46 and our IRIS Development team is investigating and once we have further news of a fix we shall be updating this KB.
We apologise for any inconvenience.
Workaround: If you urgently need to share the income/expenses etc between 2+ partners then please load the other partner/client in PT and manually create the property/dividend again (add a extra letter/number at end of the name so you can tell this was manually entered) and enter the income etc with their relevant % share (and not use the joint property boxes and adding partners options). Once we have released a fix, then add back in the joint partner in PT again and check it appears on the 2nd etc partner (you may note the income being doubled as you now have 2 similar entries). Now delete the property/dividend with the ‘extra letter/number at end of the name’ so only the other correct joint property now shows.
