Problem
I need to migrate PTP Tax Platform to a new machine. How do i do this?
Resolution
This migration guide addresses how to migrate the database to a new installation of PTP Tax Platform.
1. Install PTP Tax Platform on the new machine. Click here to view the PTP Tax Platform installation guide and obtain the download.
2. Copy the PTPData folder from the old machine onto a storage medium, i.e External Hard Drive or Memory Stick.
If you are unsure on where your PTPData folder is, please click here to help identify the location.
3. On the new machine, rename the existing PTPData folder to PTPData.old. Once completed, copy and paste the PTPData folder from your storage medium into the PTP folder, it should look like the screenshot below.
4. Try launching PTP Tax Platform or CT Platform and check that the software is working and shows your clients. Any issues, please contact support for further assistance.
