IRIS Autumn 2026 release v26.3.0

Overview

The IRIS Accountancy Suite Autumn release version 26.3.0.614 includes updates in Accounts Production to support the Pension Schemes SORP 2026 and electronic submissions for audit exempt subsidiary accounts. In Company Secretarial, new Confirmation Statement forms are available as well as updates to IDV verification.

Personal Tax has been updated to reflect the change to ‘carried Interest’ with the ability to produce estimated 2027 tax calculations. And for MTD, develop continues to enhance the end-to-end MTD ITSA journey.

And in Practice management, two way syncing of IDV codes between IRIS Accountancy Suite and IRIS Elements removes the need for practice staff to maintain IDV status in two systems.

IRIS Accounts Production

Pension Schemes SORP 2026

This release delivers support for the Pension Schemes SORP 2026. The updated SORP applies to periods beginning on or after 1 January 2026, with early adoption available.

What’s new:

  • The EPEN chart and data screens have been updated to allow reports to reflect Pension Schemes SORP 2026 disclosures.
  • Actuarial Liabilities and the Statement of Trustees’ Responsibilities are now included in the Trustees’ Report.

Electronic submission of Audit Exempt Subsidiary accounts

Subsidiaries that apply the 479A Audit Exemption can now prepare subsidiary accounts for electronic submission to Companies House via the Companies House Zip Service.
Accounts are produced through the usual iXBRL route with the accompanying Guarantee and Agreement via Accounts Production (tagged to the 2025 taxonomies). IRIS generates a single zip file containing both for filing, utilising the communication tab in Practice Management.

IRIS Company Secretarial

Confirmation Statement (CS01 & LLCS01)

The Confirmation Statement forms will now use a Companies House schema that no longer references Identity Verification (IDV) codes.
You’ll now see:

  • A new version of the CS01 and LLCS01 forms.
  • The previous form versions archived from the blank forms list, so only the current version is available to select.

IDV verification (VS01 & LLVS01)

From 1 December 2026, the automatic triggering of the VS01 and LLVS01 forms is no longer applicable.
You’ll now see:

  • The automatic trigger removed — these forms will no longer be generated automatically.
  • VS01 and LLVS01 available in the archived forms.

IRIS Personal Tax

IRIS Summer Tax AI release v26.2.5 (optional release made available on the 7th September)

Personal Tax now includes Document Import, a new AI-powered feature that reads client documents, automatically pulls out the data you need, and feeds it directly into Personal Tax, ready for review.

Previously limited to P60 and P11D, Document Import now also supports three additional document types: Personal Bank Statements (interest income), Business Bank Statements (business income and transactions, with expenses categorised into the categories required on the tax return), and Dividend Vouchers (dividend amounts and dates).

By removing the need to manually key in this information, Document Import cuts transcription errors and speeds up turnaround on returns involving bank interest, business income, or dividends.

Budget 2025-Carried Interest Regime

The Budget 2025 introduces a change to the tax treatment of Carried Interest: from 6 April 2026, it will be treated as a trade for Income Tax purposes rather than as a Capital Gain.
To reflect this, the software has been updated to allow you to produce estimated 2027 tax calculations, including Carried Interest.

Note: As a result, the ‘Carried Interest’ and ‘Arising basis?’:

  • checkboxes have been removed from Other Capital Gains data entry (applicable from 2027 onwards)
  • the 32% column has been removed from the FTCR (Foreign Tax Credit Relief) report
  • any previously entered values under the old regime will be automatically treated as ‘Other gains’.

Further updates are expected to the software for April 2027 in respect of this change in tax treatment.

Making Tax Digital

In this release we continue to develop, refine, and enhance the end-to-end Making Tax Digital for Income Tax Self-Assessment (MTD ITSA) journey.
You can continue to complete quarterly submissions across all in-year income sources, including Self-Employment, UK Property, and Foreign Property.

We’ve also continued to extend support for other income and reliefs, including Interest, Dividends, Employment, and Pension income, among others.
This release includes a significant number of updates to align with the latest API versions issued by HMRC, ensuring your MTD submissions remain fully compliant and reliable as HMRC’s specification continues to evolve.

IRIS Practice Management

2-Way IDV Codes sync with IRIS Accountancy Suite and IRIS Elements

  • IDV code changes made in IAS Desktop (create, update, or removal) are pushed to the matching Elements client record, identified by Client ID.
  • IDV code changes made in IRIS Elements are sent back to IAS Desktop and applied to the matching client record.
  • Sync events for unmatched clients are skipped gracefully with no data corruption; malformed events are rejected and logged rather than applied.
  • Reduces compliance risk and removes the need for practice staff to maintain IDV status in two systems.

Companies House ZIP Packaging from the Client Communications tab

Practice users can now generate a Companies House-ready ZIP package directly from the Communications tab, bundling stored Audit Exempt files into the exact directory structure required by the CH ZIP Service. Removing the need for manual file restructuring before submission.
