Overview

The IRIS Accountancy Suite Summer service pack delivers Personal Tax AI document import functionality enabling additional document types to be imported.

Personal Tax-AI Document Import 

Personal Tax now includes Document Import, an AI-powered feature that reads client documents, automatically extracts the data you need, and feeds it directly into Personal Tax, ready for review. 

Previously limited to P60 and P11D, Document Import now also supports three additional document types: 

• Personal Bank Statements – extracts interest income for entry onto the return. 
• Business Bank Statements – extracts business income and transactions, automatically categorising expenses into the categories required on the tax return. 
• Dividend Vouchers – extracts dividend amounts and payment dates. 

For each document type, Document Import identifies the relevant figures, maps them to the correct fields in Personal Tax, and presents them for review before they’re accepted onto the return, so nothing is submitted without a final check. 

By removing the need to manually key in this information, Document Import cuts transcription errors and speeds up turnaround on returns involving bank interest, business income, or dividends. This is particularly valuable during peak filing periods, where manual data entry for these document types is one of the most time-consuming parts of return preparation.
