Spring brings brighter days, warmer weather and some exciting new features for Cascade.

Our team has been hard at work, upgrading and expanding the system functionality.

In this blog, we’ve covered some of the recent updates.

HR: employee engagement

Cascade users now have the ability to create personalised login messages, helping improve communication and engagement immediately upon platform access.

With this feature, users can select:

  • Timeframes for the message to be shown
  • Who you want to target
  • Whether you want text or to embed a YouTube video

In the future, we’ll be looking to add additional customisation features so you can further personalise your messages.

Note: employees have the option to close the message and return to it at a later date.

HR: improved user navigation

We’ve listened to customer feedback and updated our left-hand navigation.

Cascade users are now able to collapse, pin and move the sidebar.

Collapsing the sidebar frees up much more of the screen, helping improve visibility.

As for the pinning functionality, you can select areas such as the details menu, ensuring key information remains on the screen.

Additionally, you can also move the location of these pinned sections, enabling you to position and customise the screen in a way that best suits you.

It’s also worth noting that Cascade remembers these changes and applies them across all browsers, so the next time you log in, it’s all in the same location.

Payroll: calculation changes 

Previously, Cascade would only make calculations based on one method: the days in the period.

We’ve now added two additional calculation methods:

  • Daily rate totals
  • Daily rate difference

The Pro-Rata method for daily rate totals allows you to specify how many days for which you would like the daily rate to be calculated.

When selecting daily rate totals, you can enter the number of days in the field. 

Payroll: scheduled reports

Scheduled payroll reports are something that’s been requested frequently.

Well, we’ve listened and taken action.

Like with the scheduled HR reports in Cascade, you can select what dates and times you want to send your reports.

However, one of the new additions for payroll is the option to enter extra parameter information on reports.
