While the weather may be getting darker and colder, the world of Staffology Payroll is looking bright!

In this blog, we’ve summarised the hard work our product team has been doing, highlighting some recent updates.

The future of Staffology Payroll

IRIS is making significant investment into Staffology Payroll over the next four years to make payroll simpler, faster and smarter.

This investment will be split across the following four areas:

  1. Content and UI enhancements
  2. Improved customer support SLAs
  3. Platform growth
  4. Growth and innovation

Supplementary payroll runs

A supplementary payroll run, or off-cycle payroll, is a special payroll process conducted outside the regular schedule to address specific needs.

Historically, if adjustments were required after a payroll had been finalised, quite a bit of manual intervention was required, or it would have to wait until the following month.

Now available in Staffology Payroll, supplementary pay runs offer you far greater flexibility, enabling you to easily handle things such as:

  • Bonus payments
  • Error corrections
  • Final paycheque
  • Reimbursements
  • Retroactive pay

Combined pensions report

This new report has been built for pension providers who only allow one submission per month.

If you’re limited to one monthly submission but run a weekly pay run, you’ll have to add all the weeks together, putting them in a single file before upload – time-consuming and prone to human error.

What we’ve done is create a report in Staffology Payroll which allows you to select the pension scheme, schedule and to/from dates, automatically adding up all the pension contributions ready for a single submission.

Pay run navigation

Within Staffology Payroll, there is now additional navigation within the pay run, enabling you to filter through employee records and search for specific employees.

Employee tax code history

You can now view HMRC notices directly within Staffology Payroll.

The system will show all the DPS notices that have been sent by HMRC and the period they’ve been applied to.

This feature enables you to easily see what’s going on with employee pay – useful for answering employee questions around tax changes.
