Problem
Users are unable to file online due to an error in the software or an error on the HMRC's online filling system
Resolution
Users are required to complete the ”Unable to file using SA online – claim for reasonable excuse” form and file it by post along with paper return if it’s after the 31st October Paper Return deadline. The form can be downloaded by visiting the link below-
https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/self-assessment-reasonable-excuse-for-not-filing-return-online
Note if a validation error has been generated users are required to carry out a separate search containing details from the error
