Problem

When attempting to open any module on the IRIS Main Menu, you receive the error message: "User dictionary is too large", preventing you from being able to access your IRIS programs.

Resolution

This is resolved in our 17.2 release available w/c 26th June In the meantime the following workaround can be applied
  1. Close IRIS
  2. Go to IRIS Directory (this can be achieved by right clicking on the IRIS shortcut on your desktop and selecting the option “Open File Location”).
  3. Open the DATA Folder and open USERDICT.DIC file, then delete all entries that state “Pari-passu” apart from one, leaving no comma after it.
  4. Exit and save.
  5. Open the IRIS Accountancy Suite Main Menu and attempt to open the module you wish to use.
If that doesn’t fix the issue then please do the following: Please locate the following 3 files in IRISDATA Folder (which is in the same location as stated previously): Irisdict.d Irisdict.i Irisdict.s And rename with “old” written after the name or delete these files. Then run repair or update IRIS. You can run a repair by installing the same version that is currently installed or you can update to the latest version if not updated already. This replaces and resets the files so you shouldn’t get either of those error messages again. IRIS Download Page
