Problem

IRIS Business Tax- 3001 7752 in Known Facts Check - The CRN (Company Registration Number) on the submission does not match the CRN for this Unique Tax Reference

Resolution

  1. Go to the Client/ View/ Basic tab/ Registered number – check the CRN code here and correct. Then check in AP may have a different code eg remove a 0 etc (read below).
  2. Go to the Client/ View/ Tax – check the clients UTR code – if correct then delete it, exit screen and go back in and manually type in UTR again and save

This error message is normally produced due to the leading zero of the Company reference number (CRN) and/or UTR not being recognised by HMRC servers. Therefore the CRN leading zero would need to be remove from client | view and then also the accounts production. Also if the UTR is corrected then the return would need to be regenerated.

Still getting error: If after regenerating the accounts and return you still encounter this error you will need to contact the HMRC support and speak to a senior member of the team to review the CRN and UTR. Explain that are you getting the Error 7752 in known fact check the CRN on the submission does not match the CRN for this unique tax ref. These errors come directly from the HMRC servers so they should be able to shed some light as to what might be causing the error here.
