Beware the Bogus Bursar: Safeguarding Parents, Payments and Reputation
Date: 21 Jan 2026
Time: 12:30 PM
Venue: Tech in Action Theatre
As part of the Bett UK 2026 programme, Simon Freeman, Managing Director of IRIS Education, will join the Tech in Action Theatre to explore how phishing attacks on schools have become targeted, sophisticated and increasingly costly. Drawing on new research from iSAMS, this session will show how fraudsters impersonate staff, intercept communications and exploit weaknesses in payment processes. Attendees will learn how to assess their school’s vulnerability, spot early warning signs and take practical steps to reduce risk, including how automated payments can help and how to talk to parents about security issues with confidence.
