‘Meet the team’ is my way of introducing you to some of our brilliant colleagues.

Through a few quick questions, you’ll get a glimpse of the people behind our payroll outsourcing service.

In this edition, I had the pleasure of catching up with Kristen Mishler, Senior Payroll Analyst.

Q: What led you to pursue a career in payroll?  

“I took a job in a call center doing phone support for accounting software, and the first module I learned was payroll. 

“I like people and puzzles, so payroll is a perfect fit for me. 

“One thing that really appealed to me when I took the job with myPay Solutions was that I would have a dedicated group of clients. 

“I love being able to build relationships with my clients and help them.”

Q: Can you tell us a little about your role and what you do on a daily basis?  

“Most of my daily tasks include communicating with my clients. 

“Clients will reach out via phone or email, and I will answer their questions and resolve their issues. 

“I also process the payroll for my clients as they submit them daily.  

“I always say the most important part of my job is to make sure the employees are paid correctly and on time.” 

Q: Are there any common misconceptions about payroll outsourcing that you’d like to clear up?  

“Outsourcing may feel like you’re losing control over your payroll, but our clients still have access to their payroll items and the reporting they need. 

“The goal of outsourcing is to streamline the process. 

“Clients don’t have to worry about tax forms or making and sending payments to select vendors. 

“This can be a huge time-saver and allows them to focus on other areas of their business.”

Q: What advice would you give to businesses considering outsourcing their payroll?  

“Communication with your payroll company is key, especially if something is changing with your payroll, such as adding insurance or a 401(k). 

“Most items can easily be accommodated, we just need to know about them.” 

Q: How does technology play a role in streamlining payroll?  

“Technology really streamlines every aspect of payroll.  

“The software calculates earnings, taxes, and creates reports with ease.” 

Q: What do you think sets your team or service apart from others in the industry?

“Our customer service really sets us apart.

“Other services have a general queue, and if someone needs to call in multiple times about an issue, they may talk with several people.
