IRIS Docs v6.26 release notes
Overview
The 6.26 release of IRIS Docs introduces new features including the ability to configure new date formats, a new option that allows for folders to be listed in a ‘natural’ sort order. The release also includes resolutions to several issues found in previous releases.
Advanced notification
Version 6.26 will be the final release supporting the following Microsoft products:
- Windows 10
- Office 2016
- Office 2019
New features
Date Format
The display format of dates is now configurable.
There are 3 areas where the date format can be configured:
- Document Reference details screen – applies to the selected document reference only.
- User options – applies to all user created Date Document References
- System options – applies only to system dates. The options are split into two, one for the centre pane and one for the right-hand pane (Summary display).
Note: If a Document Refence has a display format set (see Document Reference option fig below) it will take precedence over the user option. i.e. the users preferred date format will only apply to user created Date Document References that do not have a display format set.
The dates in the Admin Audit logs are not subject to any configuration changes.
Folder natural sorting
A new option has been added to allow folders to be displayed in a ‘natural’ sort order. The option called Enable Windows Natural Sorting can be found in Administration | Global Settings.

Resolved issues
Administration
- Added ‘Search’ audit events to the Audit log.
- The domain of a user can now be changed from the user details screen.
Email Assistant
- Emails were not flagging – after VPN disconnects and reconnects while Outlook is running.
- Outlook start up – improved the efficiency and loading speed of Email Assistant.
Miscellaneous
- Email attachments – now displays the correct file size data. As part of the upgrade process, it will also update existing email attachments where possible.
- Updated warning messaging – regarding index creation when creating string document references over 900 characters. It has now been increased to 1700 characters in line with the minimum version of SQL Server supported.
- Notes and Notebooks – no longer have metadata applied when the document they are attached too is re-indexed. In addition to this Notes and Notebooks are now moved with the document when File & Saving and Re-File & Saving.
- Email path configuration – ‘Test’ function was erroring.
- Exchange Online Email Journalling – when trying to process email rules if the email is in a subfolder of the inbox.
- Improved the error handling for very large emails – large emails that the DataHub cannot process without erroring are now treated as transient errors (they are put into the error buffer with a maximum of 5 retries).
Search
- New autocomplete option – when using this option, you could not search on old document reference data that is no longer in a Fixed List. This has now been added. A message prompt is displayed informing the user that one or more search values are not in the current list and if you wish to continue with the search.
