Problem

How do I print a narrative, note or message on a payslip?

Resolution

If you are printing payslips:

Go to produce your payslips as normal, make sure you select the output option to "Printer":

Print options window

Click "OK" and you will see the following prompt:

Stationary prompt form

Once you have loaded the forms into the printer, click "OK". You will then see the following message:

Payslips narrative prompt

Click "Yes" and type your message into the box.

narrative message box

Click "OK". PAYE-Master will proceed to print your payslips with the message included.

If you are publishing payslips to OpenPayslips:

The process is almost exactly the same, the only difference being you will click "Publish" at the start of the process:

You still want to make sure you select the output option to "Printer", the software will only print payslips for employees without an email address saved in their personal details:

Print options window

Click "OK" and you will see the following prompt:

If you have employees on your payroll without an email address you should load the forms into the printer. If all your employees have email addresses ignore this message. Click "OK". You will then see the following message:

Payslips narrative prompt

Click "Yes" and type your message into the box.

narrative message box

Payslips published to OpenPayslips will include your narrative message.

Below is an example of how and where the message is displayed on the payslip:
